Game Design Document

3D ball

For this week we started to create our Game Design Document where we place and share the important information about our game. The reading task that we did this week was very helpful to me as well because it gave me an idea of how to start the document.

Here is the link to my Game Design Document. I only use Word Document to do my Game Design Document because I feel more comfortable using it and I also think that it makes the document looks neater and easy to find information. However, my Game Design Document is not fully complete because it does not contain any images and audios at the moment. I will also make some changes along the way.

I hope that you will enjoy reading my Game Design Document and feel free to comment on what you think about it!

  1. Hi, Flosie!!
I really like your idea of a puzzle/maze that is surrounded by grass and hedges. I like that I don't necessarily would need to use the keyboard, that a can use my mouse.
I was wondering if there will be a mode where the player can play without a timer?
What if for the Hidden Treasures you give the player two “cards” in each one would be additional time and the other more collectable coins, but the player doesn't know each one contains what? What if for the sound you add nature sound, like wind, birds singing, ...?
Best of luck with your game creation!

  2. Hi, Flosie!!
The reading task that we did also helped me but I was still very confused and questioning myself if I was doing the right thing hahaha
I used Dundoc for my GDD, it has a template and explains what each section mean, it helped me a lot hihihi
Good luck with the rest of the semester!

  3. Hi Flosie, I just read your game design document and I like that you thought of adding a time limit to the game, its a good idea to let the player decide if they want to use a timer or not, I'm sure a timer will give the player more of a challenge while playing your game. I think the forest theme really suits your maze game idea. The variety of rewards that a player can collect in the game is really great, especially the one that adds additional time for the player to complete the game. Anyway I wish you luck with your game, I'm sure it'll be great :)

Twitter List!

Lee jong Suk giving you flowerrrsss Hi guys! How are you doing? I tried to create a List on Twitter. Link to an external site I have never created a Twitter List before so it is a new experience. I also think that this will be useful to me especially in the future as I want to explore more about animators and designers and learn from them. I also think that creating a list of specific topics would help you to find them easily and it is more organized.

Introduction to a future Animator 😁

If you've been reading my blog post since the day I started, you have read my first introduction. However, I haven't really talked about myself. So in this post, I will along with questions from the tasks we have given. 😁 My photo from last year First of all my name is Flosie Jane Sazon, I am currently a 2nd-year student studying Creative Digital Media at the  Technological University of Dublin located in Blanchardstown Campus. I'm 20 years old (even though I don't look my age πŸ˜‚) and I have been living in Ireland since I was 13. This course wasn't actually my first choice even though I love art. My first choice was something about business and language which was way different from what I'm doing now, but I'm really happy that I'm doing what I love. Even though there were a lot of times convincing my parents but everything went well in the end.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ What was the best class you took last semester? why? Unity Tutorial 04

This week's tutorial lesson was very straightforward and easy to follow. I also did not have any problem with the Unity tutorial videos and the software this time which I am really glad about. I learned how to apply codes that can destroy the objects when the collision is detected. I also know how to add the "Game Over" message in coding if the farmer missed feeding one of the animals. The tutorial lesson also taught us how to spawn the animals at timed intervals so that the animals will appear randomly on the game. Here are the things that I learned for this week's Unity tutorial: Lesson 2.4 New functionality: Animals are spawned on timed interval and walk down on the screen and the animal gets past the player without getting fed, there's a "Game Over" trigger massage at the left bottom of the screen. When the projectile and animal collide, objects are removed right away. New Concepts/Skills: Create custom methods/functions InvokeRepeating() to repeat c...
